Sex Offender Violations in Lake Havasu

Having a criminal conviction on your record is something you want to avoid at all costs.  It will follow you around for the rest of your life and will have to be explained to employers, at interviews, and higher education opportunities.  But if there’s one thing worse, it is also being a registered sex offender.  Not only do you have the conviction of the crime itself, but you will also be required to register your address and be listed as a sex offender on public websites and in police databases.

Lake Havasu Lawyer Handling Sex Offense Cases

Lake Havasu City has just started using a new sex offender tracking system to more efficiently and effectively locate and track registered sex offenders in their jurisdiction.  The database, called OffenderWatch, pulls information statewide from law enforcement agencies about movement, history, and activities of those on the sex offender registry.  One major feature is that citizens can access the database 24-7.

Registering as a Sex Offender

In Mohave County, once a sex offender is released from serving their sentence or off probation, they have 10 days to register with the Sheriff’s Office.  Failure to register is a crime in itself, resulting in heavy fines and possible prison time.  It is not uncommon for this to happen.  Failure to register as a sex offender in Arizona can easily be due to a miscommunication, misunderstanding, or ignorance of the process.  If you are charged with failure to register as a sex offender, contact our office immediately so we can get your case resolved quickly with great results.
