I read in the news that a Phoenix man who was riding his motorcycle this morning near 38th Avenue and Peoria when he collided with a vehicle. According to the article, the driver of the motorcycle is in serious condition at a local hospital.
This is absolutely terrible news. Although I am a big proponent of riding motorcycles, they are incredibly dangerous. At this point, we do not know who was at fault, but every day I see motorcycle driving at very high rate of speeds weaving in and out of traffic. Even if riders are obeying all traffic laws, they are incredibly difficult to see, making them vulnerable for serious collisions. I really hope this man recovers from his injuries. My thoughts will be with he and his family today. I understand the stress and emotions associated with catastrophic events like this.
